Silverdale Boarding Kennels & Cattery Terms & Conditions

Payment Terms

All fees are payable on arrival.

We charge for day in and day out. Your cat/dog's kennel will be available for your use from 8:30 am on your arrival day until 6:00 pm on your day of departure. Any animal not collected by 6:00 pm will be subject to a charge of one extra day's boarding.

During our peak periods (see below) we require a £30 deposit (cats)/£50 deposit (dogs) for each animal, which is non refundable.

During our peak periods a booking is only accepted on receipt of your deposit. Payment may be made by Credit/Debit card or Cash. We accept cheques provided they are supported by a cheque guarantee card which covers the full amount of the fees.

A charge of £20.00 will be made for all cheques returned, not in order for immediate payment.

We reserve the right to revise our prices when necessary.

All prices quoted will be at the rate prevailing at time of booking. All prices charged will be at the rate prevailing at the time of boarding.

Insurance

A charge of £3.00 per week , or part of a week, will be made for insurance to cover any vets' fees incurred as a result of an animal's stay at Silverdale Kennels.

This insurance will not cover pre-existing conditions.

Any vets' fees incurred for treatment of pre-existing conditions must be settled by the owner at the time of collection.

The insurance will only cover veterinary treatment for an illness that has occurred at Silverdale Kennels or that first shows clinical signs within a maximum of 72 hours of leaving the kennels.

For further details of our insurance cover please speak to a member of our staff.

Innoculations

All dogs must be fully inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza, and must have had a booster injection within the previous twelve months.

Cats must be fully inoculated against Feline leukaemia, Feline infectious enteritis, Feline viral rhinotracheitis (Feline Herpes Virus) and Feline calicivirus, and must have had a booster injection with the previous twelve months.

Canine Infectious Bronchitis (Kennel Cough)

We do not insist that you have your dog inoculated against canine infectious bronchitis. We have found in the past that dogs that have been inoculated have still caught the disease. Also the method of administration is particularly unpleasant (drops in the nose) and some dogs refuse to have it done more than once. We suggest you discuss this matter with your veterinary surgeon. If you decide to have this inoculation, it must be done at least three weeks prior to arriving at the kennels.

Abandoned Animals

In the event of an animal not being collected or boarding fees not being paid, the proprietor may dispose of the animal concerned after giving 14 days notice to the owner, or his representative at their last known address.

Belongings

Everything your cat or dog requires for his/her stay at Silverdale is provided. We have a plentiful supply of toys. If you want to bring toys, please do not bring anything precious or anything you would not want to lose. The kennels are cleaned out every day and toys are easily lost when the bedding is changed.

Peak Periods

Our peak periods are Easter, Summer & Christmas/New Year.

During these times we are always oversubscribed and therefore unable to offer discounts other than our normal multiple occupancy discounts.

There is a 7 day minimum charge for Summer Bookings.
There is a one day surcharge per kennel/cat pen for all Bank Holiday bookings.

During our peak periods we do not give credits for shortened stays.

We require two weeks notice of a change to the booking period during our peak periods

Outside of our peak periods we are happy to negotiate discounts for long stay occupancy or regular visits. Any discounts negotiated are subject to fees being paid in accordance with our normal payment terms.

Opening Hours

Our opening hours are as follows:

Monday to Saturday - 8:30 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday - 8:30 am to 12:00 noon

We close the office at 12:00 noon on Sunday. We re-open between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm for late collections provided your account is settled in full.

The office is closed for all bank holidays; therefore animals cannot arrive or depart on those days. Animals must be delivered & collected during our opening hours.

Collections & Deliveries

Our collection and delivery times are as follows:

AM: 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
PM: 1:00 am to 4:00 pm

We are unable to quote specific times for collections & deliveries. Whilst we will make every effort to maintain the period quoted, we cannot guarantee to do so. If an animal requires urgent veterinary treatment, this would have to take precedence. If you have a flight to catch or a deadline to meet, we strongly recommend that you book your animal in the day before you travel.

Collections & deliveries within the London congestion charging area will be subject to this charge at the prevailing rate.
